FriendMobilizer: A Facebook pretender, with ads. This past July, Facebook's excellent iPhone application joined similar apps for BlackBerry and Palm to bring core Facebook features to mobile socializers in a distinctive Facebook wrapper. Google Sky Map illuminates Android. Игру Находить Предметы on this page. Curiously, there's no official software for the Windows Mobile platform, and no expressed word that a program is in the works. In fact, Facebook has kept mum to my inquiries, and Microsoft's Windows Mobile team responded with evasive PR nonsense. That doesn't mean social butterflies of the Windows Mobile breed are left in a lurch. Two software companies have stepped up to bring their own freeware versions of Facebook to Windows Mobile smartphones and PocketPCs. Crashday 2 Через Торрент. There's FriendMobilizer, in July for Windows Mobile Smartphone and PocketPC which debuted, and Snap2Face, which just released its first full version on Thursday. Neither is as simple to install as the sanctioned Facebook mobile apps, nor are they as comely to behold. Yet both are acceptable stopgaps until Facebook comes out with a long-awaited replacement. standartbooking. They're certainly more convenient than hitting up Facebook's mobile site, m.facebook.com. FriendMobilizer and snap2face give you many of the same features as the Facebook-branded mobile apps, but with little of the visual refinement. Snap2Face uses a tabbed interface to switch between your profile and your friends' pages, then places mini Facebook icons at the bottom of each screen so you can partake in photo-viewing and message-sending activities. Snap2Face also boasts a photography album slide show and a feature that syncs Facebook profile images to your phone contacts. Майнкрафт 1.8 С Forge. Both would have been neat had the software not been plagued by crashes and hang-ups that required us to frequently refresh the screen or restart the app. Installation could be smoother also, but because one component of Snap2Face is a third-party Facebook app, you'll need to give it log-in permission via Facebook.com. Дмитрий Старостин Американский Гулаг. FriendMobilizer looks even less like Facebook.com, opting for a table-of-contents-like interface that lists new notifications to the left and places an ad to the right. Other actions are navigated to through the context menu, a system that actually works because it requires less scrolling than Snap2Face and lays out the tasks in a form factor that's familiar to Windows Mobile users. The benefits pretty much stop there when it becomes clear that FriendMobilizer is a shortcuts portal that opens pages in Facebook's mobile site. At 381KB, FriendMobilizer takes up one-third the space of Snap2Face's 982KB app, yet only has a fraction of the capability. Snap2Face resembles Facebook, but appears to suffer inconsistent performance. Though Snap2Face is by far the better product of the two, it would struggle to hold its own against Facebook's faster, smoother, and prettier proprietary applications for Palm, BlackBerry, and iPhone. That begs the question: why is Facebook dragging in releasing its own Windows Mobile app? Until it does, FriendMobilizer gets the possibility to make a buck off an ad placement and Snap2Face gets to revel in being the only convincing show in town. That's not a bad thing, but it's also not the best thing. Hurry, Facebook, hurry.

BrowserCheck, from security company Qualys, evaluates your installed plug-ins and lets you know if they need to be updated. It's identical in function to Mozilla's Plugin Check, although it appears to be far more limited in scope for now. BrowserCheck scans your browser's plug-ins to ensure they're up-to-date, but it requires an add-on to get the job done also. Custom Settlements Русификатор on this page. Qualys' BrowserCheck helpfully targets out-of-date plug-ins, and provides links to download updates. Oddly, the service takes a unique approach by requiring the user to install a Qualys add-on before it will scan for out-of-date plug-ins. This is likely to frustrate many users, especially in the face of Mozilla's service, which doesn't require an additional add-on and currently scans for more plug-ins than Qualys' does. BrowserCheck's limitations are hard to brush off. It shall only work with 32-bit versions of Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8; Firefox 3.0 through the current stable version 3.6.6; and Google Chrome 4 and 5. Инструкция Casio Amw-706D-7A read more. Qualys checks for fewer plug-ins, limited to Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader 5.above and x, Adobe Shockwave, Apple QuickTime, BEA Jrockit, Microsoft Silverlight, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, Windows Presentation Foundation for Mozilla-based browsers, and the Windows OS support expiration. It does let you know if your browser itself needs an update, and the add-on concept could prove useful down the road. Wolfgang Kandek, chief technology officer for Qualys, said in an interview last week that he wasn't sure how requiring an add-on would affect scan adoption. He did add, though, that there are plans to get involved in scheduling scans and other "deeper dive" scans that would require hooks into the browser that only an add-on can provide. Although BrowserCheck's initial limitations may seem to be to some like missteps, Qualys isn't a neophyte to the security field. Still, from the looks of BrowserCheck as it is now, Mozilla's service casts a wider net, and that's a key factor to stopping security breaches. On morning Tuesday, popular antivirus vendors AVG and Avira, as well as instant messenger service WhatsApp, all had their respective homepages hijacked by a combined group of activist hackers. It appears that several Web sites of Avira as well as other companies have been compromised by a group called KDMS. When I bought a gaming PC for home use a little over a year ago, I bought a middle-of-the-road machine that had everything I needed with a little room to upgrade later on down the line. I got a 2.2GHz processor, a high-end (at the time) video card so I could play the latest games, 2 gigs of RAM (on the advice of a gamer friend), and I opted for a 120GB hard drive to save a little money. At the time, it seemed like 120GB would be more than enough. After all, I can remember when a 1GB hard drive was the pinnacle of storage capacity--120GB ought to be able to hold anything right? Games these days generally take up a few gigs each so I thought I would never run out of space. I now know I was wrong. If you wait long enough, the biggest hard drives will fill up even. I can't complain about my video card or processor performance for most games, though they are beginning to fall behind. But just the other day, I was about to download the demo for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare when I was shocked to find I was almost completely out of room on my hard drive. Instead of taking the obvious route--going through and uninstalling older games--I approached the nagging problem from a different angle. I found a few useful programs which calculate file and folder sizes and present them in a tree format, according to which games, media folders, and software were taking up the most space. MN1-5 here. From there it was easy to see what I could do without, enabling me to free up space before deciding to make my next big hard drive purchase. Use the analyze function to get a detailed graph of file distribution SizeExplorer Pro shows you a tree structure so you can see where all the space is being used up, but you also can view files in several types of graphs for a visual representation of file distribution across several hard drives. You can use this application to search by file extension which comes in convenient if you wish to delete extraneous movie files or images that you no longer need. This one may be the best for multiple drives or if you're charged with managing files across a network. SizeExplorer Pro has the most options of the combined group, but you'll have to pay for the added features ($35). Though it\'s lacking in flashy features, TreeSize Free does the job TreeSize Free shows you a tree structure like SizeExplorer Pro but won't give you nearly as many options as the paid program. The developers of the bare-bones TreeSize Free offer more expansive products, but if you only need to see which files are taking up space, this free version is a great choice. Dropbox's new productivity features. You will be able to view your files in a familiar Windows Explorer layout, which makes it easy to navigate your hard drive. You also can delete directories from within TreeSize Free. JDiskReport offers a slick interface and a few more options than TreeSize Free JDiskReport gives you a tree structure like the others, and you can view your drive in a colorful graph and sort by a number of different criteria, such as file file and types sizes. JDiskReport offers themes so you can personalize the look and feel of the utility, though it seems a little strange for a file-management tool. One issue I have with this application is you can't delete files directly from within the program, though you can access Windows Explorer pretty quickly through a contextual menu.
